Are Ex-ISD detainees in the limelight to radicalise us? Or wake us up from our slumber?

Mr Chia Thye Poh lost 32 years of his prime. Mr Said Zahari lost 17 years and Dr Lim Hock Siew lost almost 20 years. Ms Teo Soh Lung was detained from 21 May to 26 Sept 1987 and again from April 1988 to June 1990.

Many others were also incarcerated by ISD because "they posed a security threat". Security threat to who? The PAP (People And Population) of Singapore?

One can never cover a stink, no matter how wise or powerful one thinks one is. Someday, somehow, whatever vile deeds one has done will catch up with one. The skeletons just have to come out of the cupboard!

The Singapore Government has banned Mr Martyn See's video recording of the speech by former political prisoner Dr Lim Hock Siew [Link]. The reasons for the ban - "The Singapore Government will not allow individuals who have posed a security threat to Singapore's interests in the past, to use media platforms such as films to make baseless accusations against the authorities, give a false portrayal of their previous activities in order to exculpate their guilt, and undermine public confidence in the Government in the process," [Link].

If so, why not use the leethal weapon, the court, to sue the pants off Dr Lim for his baseless accusations?

You can bluff all the people some of the time,
You can bluff some people all of the time, but
You cannot bluff all the people all of the time.

With internet, youtube and vimeo, we have become less blind and less deaf. We can separate the wheat from the chaff. We can see and hear more clearly and know who the liar is, who the hypocrites are . . .

Are they afraid of the ex-ISD detainees (namely, Said Zahari, Lim Hock Siew and Teo Soh Lung) because they know that truth exposes, embarrasses and hurts the guilty villians?

For those who missed Dr Lim Hock Siew's speech, here's the transcription. [Link]

If you want to see more clearly, I recommend that you read Ms Teo Soh Lung's "Beyond The Blue Gate." before it becomes another "security threat" to the authorities and gets outlawed too.

How morally depraved, ignoble or wicked can a despot or party be?

Until we know, we may never know.

Many thanks to Mr Martyn See, Mr Said Zahari, Dr Lim Hock Siew and Ms Teo Soh Lung for showing us some.

Seriously, are the Muslims incarcerated really 'guilty'? Are the PAP now into arresting people based on mind reading and emails posted? I thought MM Lee indicated years earlier he will gladly help send these people to Afganistan to help the Talibans? Was MM Radicalised then?

I am just wondering will LKY or his PM son consider me a security threat to Singapore if I harbour the following ideas in my mind :

Say, I aspire to become the next PM of Singapore and I promise that my Cabinet Ministers will not require to be paid a penny more than what the US President is being paid ? If my Cabinet Ministers end up being corrupt because of the low pay as what LKY & his PM son is arguing, can't you Singaporeans just kick us all out using the ballot box or even jail us if there is evidence ?

Or if I made a promise that all HDB flats will be really affordable (not according to the Horsing Minister), price sold will in proportion to the income of the applicant, sold with a one time REAL subsidy but with a condition that it MUST be owner occupied. If they are not owner occupied, they must be returned to the govt to be sold to another deserving applicant. Let's solve the housing demand problem first before we talk of the 2nd cherry or allow speculation of resale flats in the open market !

Or if I promise to give jobs priority to local Singaporeans first with a minimum wage so that our cleaners, hawker assistants, waiters, clerks, etc. have a decent enough wage to work hard to afford a reasonable standard of living.

Can you jail me for having such socialist ideas in my mind ?

And why is it that our PAP Govt is not interested to implement such policies for the interests and welfare of the general public ?

Is it because they are are the capitalist pigs and cronies who will be badly affected if such socio-beneficial policies are implemented ?

Even if I do have such socialist mindset, did I commit a serious crime to ask people to riot and kill each other to deserve the few decades of detention ?

Is the security threat thing such an obvious excuse so that the slightest chance of forming an alternative govt is eliminated so that the incumbent and his preferred heirs can continue to rule in perpetualty ?

"If you don't die, then I will perish" has to be the only reason for the ban ?

Watch the news.
Muslim radicalisation was step one.
Preventing Vincent Cheng from speaking was step 2.
Banning this film was step 3.
Who will be next??

I thought they were into relaxing the rules on political broadcast before the next election. Too hot to handle or unable to cope?

It looks to be getting worse rather than better.

Power corrupts.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Now I know the truth of this saying.

History shows us that all revolutions were invariably preceded by periods of extreme and desperate despotic measures by those in power to curtail and restrict people's freedom. Such measures were usually applied in stages and at each stage the rulers were embolden by their own repressive measures's apparent success. They were lulled into it until the day when all hell broke loose when what they did to people tipped the scale. That day will surely come to this island.

The truth about being equal, 'under' the law ,is that there is also an unspoken truth about some people being 'above' the law.

Well, Mr Fish, LKY has just branded Singaporeans as being 'ignorant.' I wonder if he's laughing at us all for letting him get away with it all these years.

May the ranks of the fearless grow and strip the PAP of all its finery and expose the real truth - even if it means the nation has to hang its head in shame for keeping mum and looking the other way when the innocents were tortured and deprived of their freedom. These are dark days indeed but there is a light in the distance. And it's glowing brighter by the day.

Can the authority ban the coffee shop talks and market chatters ? Are the MPs cheered at their walk abouts or are they frowned and scorned upon. They should know as it is getting more open on how they are being abhor by the masses. These politicians are self deceiving themselves when they are surrounded by some supporters that are gathered from all over the island just to create a wide support impression. The day of reckoning should be near.

Yes, the parliamentarians were creating false pictures to deceive themselves, laughable and despicable.

When i saw Dr Lim Hock Siew in the video now, he look like a harmless old man and it is difficult to consider him a security threat.
However, i do not believe that in the 1960s, there are no singaporeans who was not influenced by communnist China and want a violent revolution to attain a socialist utopia. Was e communist a serious threat then? Now, who can remember whether Dr Lim was misguided in the 1960s?
Those people who protest against the ISA must also campaign for all the JI and Al Qaeda members that are arrested.
Seek their release and see whether the people support your move. Please do not wait 20 to 30 years to make a political film.

A communist is not necessarily a terrorist. Terrorists are not all communist. JI and Al Qaeda members are terrorist.

In most countries, even in the West, communist are just given as much respect as non communist. But in every country, a terrorist is a terrorist, and not tolerated. Even communist China condemns terrorism.

That's the difference between a communist and JI and Al Qaeda members.
