4 Days to "Say No To 6.9M"
Instead of 4.30pm, the Event will start at 4pm on Saturday 16 Feb 2013 at Speakers' Corner, Hong Lim Park.
Below is an update from Mr Gilbert Goh, organizer for the Event.
"We wil be starting the event earlier at 4pm due to the sheer number of speakers we have and other performances. Please try to spread the word around if possible.
I am also seeing Reuters corrspondent tomorrow for a short interview and BBC has also just contacted me. It looks like the event has garnered worldwde global attention which is phenomenal.
Many people have asked me what is the dress colour code for the day and obviously its black in colour. Black is the universal protest colour. Do bring your own placards and handheld banners to protest peacefully at the event.
We should be able to confirm if we can do livestreaming by Thursday so that 200,000 overseas Singaporeans and million others worldwide can watch the event live on the internet. It will be a spectacular event so don't miss it Singapore!
Let us bring our displeasure of the population white paper to the world attention!"

Ain't it a shame that every mass medium is interested to report on this Singapore event except the msm of Singapore namely Straits Times and MediaCorp's channels like CNA.

The music I heard when I asked a couple to join us this Saturday:
Husband: "Let's be at Hong Lim Park this Saturday to support 'say no to overpopulating Singapore with foreigners'"
Wife: "Yes, but we have to send our daughter to her art class this Saturday at 4pm"
Husband: "It's better to miss one class than to let her miss a whole future!"
COUNTDOWN:
4 days more to 16 Feb 2013 : HARTAL.v2 -"SAY NO TO 6.9M" ZoukOut at Hong Lim Park at 4pm
Dear readers,
Bitching, talking, blogging and forwarding emails and is not enough.
Come rain or shine, thunder or lightning, be at Hong Lim Park at 4pm on 16 Feb 2013 to show the arrogant PAP that we want a SINGAPOREAN SINGAPORE!! We don't want them to play dirty like in AIMgate. We don't want 6.9 million!
KEEP SINGAPORE CLEAN (BERSEH)!
My extended family and I will be there.
Will you?
Please forward this plea to all your friends and relatives so that with peace and humility we can show the arrogant PAP government that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

If this happen to other western democratic countries, the passing of such paper will result in creative humorous act of disapproval. For example, people bring along a roll of Toilet Paper as symbolic significance as White paper and the video show the people throwing toilet paper in the air together as a sign of disapproval.
Guess this is a difference in between western culture and asian culture in term of creative act.
Dear Anonymous of February 13, 2013 at 1:28 AM,
Touche! and many thanks for triggering my thoughts
Being responsible Singaporeans who care much for the environment, I would not think that people who turn up on 16 Feb 2013 will mess up the park with white toilet paper.
It will be awesome if attendees bring along a gift - oranges, ketupats, sweets, devil curry and even log cakes and bottled water (or whatever pleasant) to exchange, give or share to show what true SIngapore an its citizens is about.
While everyone is there, reach out and touch somebody's hand and make this a better place as it should be!
Love,

Fish, do you have the list of speakers?
President Obama
---------------
" YES WE CAN "
PAP Leaders
-----------
You are daft.
You are just a digit.
We need foreign talent.
and etc.
Why the fark do we vote for such piss poor leaders I'll never understand.
can i bring along a pink orang utan?
White toilet paper, having 6 million in 2020 n 6.9 million in 2030, Question where these people come from, guess not locally produced ones! Most important is for the highest payed ministers from tax payers' money must do immediately is to compensate all Singaporean whom sacrifice the unborne babies during the 'Stop at Two' policy...to repend for e murderous crime committed leh! Second immediate action is to provide sufficient funding n rising cost for babies to them; the low income group whom want to have more babies but salary not enough! During then Stop at Two, the low in come group have to abort their babies or pay the fine penalty leh. So, what is e Right Priority to do now or never?
Well, the black chief finally speaks out on the black event/ protest to gather real strong respect/ support!? Still best wishes to those heading to the black event during CNY!!
Oh please... "It looks like the event has garnered [worldwide] global attention which is phenomenal."
This is not a Western democracy. We are in Southeast Asia. Things are done differently here. Get your geography right. Why should we be doing things the Western way (if their systems are screwed as they are).
You're only a digit if you count yourself as one. You're not alive if you see yourself constrained by others. Honestly, instead of just doing whatever the government or the opposition tells you, go use your own brains and do some research. Overpopulation is bad for us, but to blindly be led by the opposition is like getting trolled by a kid. There are upsides and downside to any country's government, but to just follow rhetoric is like calling PAP supporters blind, yet the irony is the numbers of those who just follow just because.
- Highest paid ministers - clean salary, no additional perks in office comparative to other countries, developed or otherwise.
- It's already been stated that 6.9 million is not a target.
- Why do you want to bring this to the world's attention. The rest of the world has enough of their third and second world problems to care about one first world country's problem.
- Quit the rhetoric about "the world". The only people who care will be those foreign businesses in Singapore.
Get a life. Do something worthwhile, such as helping the elderly or something.
To all readers out there, pls take a moment to read this article. After you have read it, then you will understand wby we must go to the event this coming Sat 4pm at Hong Lim park.
"Governments like ours are the reasons why God gave us middle fingers.
So the prime minister became a tad emotional at Parliament the other day.
Hard as I tried, I couldn’t muster up enough sympathy for him."

Shigure: "Get a life. Do something worthwhile, such as helping the elderly or something."
Well, I do. What I really want is to get moving with my life, and leave all these politics to the politicians. However, I found out the hard way that policies affect my life more than I imagined, that they can set me back so many steps that I have painstakingly taken.
So, yes, I will be at Hong Lim Park. Not because I am anti-PAP, or because I support opposition. But because I am pro-Singapore. Say No to 6.9M. I want my country back.
Watch "Smoke at Newton MRT station" on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z6AY15GnmQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Smoke gets into your eyes! This is not a political event. It's about saying no to 6.9 million population. Let us get it clear. Some just can't think clearly.
Got "pink orang utan?" It will be interesting to see a pink orang utan! Especially if the pink orang utan can speak 3 languages Malay, Chinese and English. Lol!
"Smoke at Newton MRT station".
Just like blowing smoke in parliament.
And blowing smoke with our GIC, Temasek accounts.
Don't just say no to 6.9 million.
VOTE OUT THE BLOOD SUCKING BASTARDS.
There is no political agenda for the Gathering Of Singaporeans at Speakers Corner on this coming Saturday 16 Feb 2013.
Singaporeans are just going there to show that they feel threaten by the Immigration Policy planned up to Year 2030 and nothing more.
patriot
Totally agreed with Patriot. It is a non political event. Sporeans are just saying no to the 6.9 million population policy.
Cost of living, the govt making us poor singaporeans pay and pay and pay and pay, and increases what we pay and pay and pay over a short period..our drained lives, our future, our savings,...only we Singaporeans can make difference by standing united..together the lion's roar will crumble all wrongs and tyranny
