I am incensed by Hri Kumar's "National Defence Duty" on foreigners and PRs crap.
I'm impressed by Siew Kum Hong's response here.
This is what I wish to add:
I started my full time National Service in 1969 in the Infantry wearing temasek green uniform and ended in the Armoured Battalion before my ROD (yes, it was termed 'run-out-date' in the good old days) in 1971. Thereafter, I did my reservist training in the Army. If that was not enough, I was seconded to the Civil Defence Force to do time in the grey uniform as a reservist after many years in temasek green!
I cannot remember the number of years I contributed to the defence of Singapore but my wife, my kids and especially my boss sure missed me when I had to be called in for those reservists training!
I did not quite like it then but I hate it now! I fooking hate the way they monetize my sweat, my blood and my children's tears when I could not come home for dinner as I could not book out but had to stay in-camp doing my reservist training!
Come 2030, my grandson will do his time in National Service (if NS still exists by then). He will be treated by half or more of Singapore's 6.9 million population as "cannon fodder" because the PRs and foreigners whose sons do not need to serve NS will be lorded as paymasters who pay my grandson his NS Salary with their monetary defence duty as recommended by Hri Kumar.
Before Hri Kumar's flippant idea reaches parliament, I humbly suggest that he goes sell his mother first. And make a pimply profit out of it!
Yes, it is rude and I am fookin' angry. But this is the only way to wake up those PAP numbskulls that their "money buys everything!" is not the solution.
- Money cannot buy the blood, sweat, tears of all NSmen.
- Money cannot replace the loss of limbs of NSmen.
- Money cannot bring life to the untimely deaths of young NSMen and heal the grief and broken hearts of their parents and loved ones
- NSmen and many Singaporeans ask not what the country (PAP ministers and MPs) can do for them, but they do all they can for their country Singapore! Without million dollar salary that ministers make . . . which makes a mockery of National Service!
Nuff said!

Come rain or shine, thunder or lightning, be at Hong Lim Park at 4pm on 16 Feb 2013 to show the arrogant PAP that we want a SINGAPOREAN SINGAPORE!!
We don't want them to play dirty like in AIMgate.

Hate to say that , but those ivory tower MPs up to now didn't realize that they will be forever remembered in Singapore History as Traitor77 ? Do they even know the definition of traitor, and the difference between right and wrong ? If so, how the shit they can agree to sell off the country byimporting and converting foreigners into citizens, just to stay in power ?
In the china, 72 Martyrs of Huanghuagang is remembered in china as heroes, but here we are, these 77 PAP stooges will be remembered forever who sell off the country by AYE to ridiculous population increase of foreigners. These stooges have for very long AYEing to whatever nonsense their master dishes out, and now in autopilot mode in what is consider the most important issue in Singapore.
Low is really smart to call for division of motion , otherwise how we identify these stooges who vote for the population motion. Verbal votes will not be recorded but electronic votes through division of motion is.
Little did they know that by AYEing that they bring eternal shame to their generation. History will not be kind to them once the incumbent party lost power.
Did the stooges know that no matter what they say now and in future will not be credible anymore after they vote for the motion ?
A party that is has no conscience, no compassion, no principle and no value isn't worthy to govern a country.
Whoever PAP supporters they are, will like to see them open their eyes wide, as not to support their party blindly because the party they support could one day betray them. If one could betray the country, what cannot be betrayed ? Hopefully they repented and vote out their party in next election before it is too late.
Think about that, given that foreigners become majority in coming future, still think local blue Singaporeans still have any dignity or any voice remains ?
PAP supporters need to wake up and see reality rather than drink kool aid because their blind party support could come back to haunt them in the future. Think about their children's future , and what future and hope they have ?
Before I expire, I respire to inspire.
I'm touched by the like-mindedness of the above 2 commentators who feels strong enough to write what they wrote.
I hope that enough Singaporeans are aware that the current PAP government has lost the plot and leading us to a future that is most detrimental to ourselves and the future of generations to come.
The way to go is to vote for decent right thinking MPs who are not in it for themselves come next election. Meanwhile, we must continue on our journey in the social media including coffee shop talks and whatever ways we can to wake up the 60% that they are supporting a party that is selling us out just to hold on to power.
The acquittal of Ng Boon Gay and the upcoming AIMgate will reveal more the insidious trash of of the power that is.
Slowly but surely true blue Singaporeans will unite wlth love and solidarity to show PAP and their cronies that honesty, transparency, humility and all things good will triumph over greed, selfishness and evil.

Not just him. This has always been the PAP's approach - using money as carrots and sticks. More sticks than carrots (which only appear just before elections).
